Charges Filed Against Russian Soldier for Violent Deportation of 15 Children in Ukraine

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has officially filed charges against a Russian soldier who organized and participated in the violent deportation of 15 Ukrainian children under threat of weaponry in southern Ukraine. According to official documents obtained by the media agency Euronews, the case pertains to children who were under the care of a local school director and her husband in the village of Novopetrivka in the Kherson region. It is reported that three of these children were orphans, ten lacked parental care, and two were living in difficult conditions.

Information reveals that the accused Russian soldier, along with several other servicemen, arrived at the school where they began threatening people with weapons and interrogating the director. The following day, according to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, the soldiers organized the violent removal of the children, who were accompanied by approximately 20 armed military personnel.

The school director and her husband were also captured. Initially, the group was deported to Stepaniivka, deeper in Kherson, where they remained for about three months. In October, shortly before the region was liberated by Ukraine, they were transferred to occupied Crimea and then to the Krasnodar region in Russia.

The children were placed in a childcare facility, and according to court documents, they were forced to "sing the national anthem, participate in propaganda events, and were prohibited from speaking Ukrainian." These actions have become part of Russia's systematic policy towards the assimilation of Ukrainian children, provoking outrage not only in Ukraine but also beyond its borders.
