A new career orientation format called Career Days has been launched in Ukraine, aimed at students in grades 8 to 11. This initiative has been designed to not only conduct assessments but also to give young individuals a chance to see the inner workings of major Ukrainian companies, allowing them to test their career hypotheses in a practical setting.
The implementation of this project is being carried out by the remote educational institution 'Atmospheric School,' which is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to provide education for students from grades 1 to 11. This initiative has garnered the participation of well-known companies across various sectors, including banking, retail, and the media industry, such as PUMB, COMFY, 1+1 Media, and 1+1 Media School.
Every teenager who undergoes career orientation testing on the online platform automatically becomes eligible to participate in Career Days. This means that young people will not only learn about potential professions but also gain practical experience by visiting the offices of companies that interest them.
A selection process will take place among all participants, where several students will be chosen for each partner company based on their profiles and recommendations from the system. The first office visits are scheduled for April of this year, providing students with a swift opportunity to acquire experience in a real business environment.
It is important to note that the Ukrainian labor market is undergoing rapid changes. New professions are emerging, the requirements for specialists are transforming, and businesses are in need of individuals with developed critical thinking, adaptability, and digital skills. This underscores the importance of career orientation for youth, as many teenagers choose their specialties without a real understanding of the daily work involved in their chosen fields.
Career Days offer students a chance to understand what their future profession looks like not just in theory but also in practice. This becomes the next step in their professional development, as they can test recommendations and their own perceptions of a career in a real business context.
Career Days will commence in April, and participation is already available to all teenagers who complete career orientation testing on the platform. The initiative is also open to new partners: companies willing to contribute to the formation of informed professional choices for youth can join this project.
Thus, Career Days from Atmospheric School are becoming a crucial stage in the development of youth, providing them with real opportunities for professional growth and a conscious choice of their future careers.
