Work Begins on 245 Energy Facilities in Ukraine Despite Financial Shortages – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conducted a governmental and regional meeting focused on the pressing issues within the nation's energy sector. During the discussion, he underscored the critical need for preparation ahead of the coming winter and the restoration of infrastructure that has suffered from Russian attacks this past winter.

Zelensky pointed out that resilience plans have already been approved across all regions of Ukraine. Zelensky highlighted that currently, 245 energy facilities throughout the country are in the process of being worked on. The President noted that the European support package of 90 billion euros for Ukraine remains blocked, which poses a serious problem. Specifically, 5 billion euros from this package were intended for preparing Ukraine for the upcoming winter and for the urgent restoration of energy infrastructure. The President expressed his hope that a decision regarding the unblocking of these funds would eventually be reached, as this is critically important for ensuring the stability of the country's energy system.
