Ukraine Begins Distribution of 1,500 UAH Support for Pensioners and Vulnerable Groups – Ulyutin
The Ukrainian government has initiated a one-time payment of 1,500 UAH for pensioners and vulnerable populations, as announced by Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denis Ulyutin during a national television marathon on Tuesday.
In Ukraine, the distribution of a one-time assistance payment of 1,500 UAH for pensioners and vulnerable segments of the population has commenced. This announcement was made by Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denis Ulyutin during a broadcast on a national television marathon on Tuesday.
According to Ulyutin, the payments will start today and will be processed throughout April. The Minister stated, "From today, we begin the payments of 1,500 UAH. The payment will be made as a one-time disbursement during April." This initiative aims to provide immediate financial relief to those most in need.
Ulyutin also shared that on March 6, resources were redirected to facilitate these payments for 540,000 pensioners who receive their pensions through "Ukrposhta." This means that the funds will be sent to their bank accounts within this week, while those who collect their pensions at "Ukrposhta" branches will receive the assistance alongside their pension on the scheduled payment day.
The Minister emphasized that these funds are not earmarked for specific purposes, allowing recipients to use them for any needs without restrictions. This aspect is crucial, as many individuals may utilize this assistance to cover urgent expenses that arise in daily life.
It is noteworthy that on March 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a program for a one-time payment of 1,500 UAH in April for pensioners and vulnerable groups. This program is designed to support those who are in dire need of financial assistance during challenging times.
Among the recipients of this payment are elderly pensioners, disabled pensioners, and those receiving pensions due to the loss of a breadwinner. Additionally, this category includes pensioners with long service who are entitled to an old-age pension, provided their pension amount does not exceed 25,595 UAH.
Furthermore, the 1,500 UAH payment will also be extended to war veterans who participated in the defense of Ukraine since 2014, as well as to those who were involved in the liquidation of the Chernobyl disaster, regardless of the size of their pension. This reflects the recognition of their significant contributions to the defense of the country and support for those affected by the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
Other recipients of state aid and compensation eligible for this payment include internally displaced persons, low-income families, individuals who do not qualify for a pension but became eligible for assistance after reaching 65 years of age, and dependents of deceased breadwinners who did not qualify for a pension.
This category also encompasses persons with disabilities, children with disabilities, children raised in large families, single mothers, children under guardianship or custody, orphans, and children deprived of parental care, as well as individuals from these groups residing in family-type children's homes and foster families.
Thus, the new payment program is designed to support the most vulnerable segments of the population, providing them with financial assistance during difficult times. This is an important step towards social support that will enable many Ukrainians to improve their material conditions.
