Prices of White Cabbage Drop in Ukraine

Recent reports from EastFruit analysts indicate a significant drop in the prices of white cabbage in Ukraine, with a notable decrease of 21% over the past weekend.

According to information provided by analysts from the EastFruit project, Ukraine has witnessed a substantial decrease in the prices of white cabbage. Just over the past weekend, cabbage prices in Ukrainian farms fell by an average of 21%. Currently, the main trading operations are being conducted at prices ranging from 3 to 9 UAH per kilogram, which is equivalent to approximately $0.07 to $0.20 per kilogram.

Market experts attribute this price drop to a sharp decline in the quality of cabbage in local farms, a consequence of prolonged storage of the vegetables. Additionally, there has been a noticeable decrease in demand for cabbage, which is also exerting further pressure on prices.

"Current cabbage prices in Ukraine are already on average 84% lower than a year ago. It is worth recalling that at the beginning of April 2025, sales were conducted at 35-42 UAH per kilogram, corresponding to $0.80 to $0.96 per kilogram," the analysts' report states.

Experts' forecasts suggest that the trend of decreasing cabbage prices may continue, as the quality of the vegetables in storage continues to deteriorate. This could lead to further price reductions in the market.

Furthermore, it is important to note that last week the Ukrainian market recorded another increase in the wholesale prices of greenhouse tomatoes. This occurred against the backdrop of a reduction in the supply of imported goods while demand for these vegetables remained relatively stable.
