Cold Weather with Rain and Wet Snow Expected in Ukraine: Meteorologist Didenko Warns of Changes on April 7
Ukraine is bracing for a significant drop in temperatures and the onset of rain, potentially accompanied by wet snow, as a cyclone influences the country's weather patterns.
Ukraine is currently experiencing changes in weather conditions due to the influence of a cyclone, which has led to the onset of rain that may later be accompanied by wet snow. According to meteorologists, a significant cold snap is approaching the country, which will be accompanied by numerous precipitation events.
Meteorologist Natalka Didenko warned on her Facebook page about a sharp change in weather expected from Tuesday, April 7. She noted that in the coming days, Ukrainians should anticipate frost, rain, and wet snow.
"A change in air masses is expected. A cold atmospheric front will cross Ukraine today and tomorrow, bringing precipitation and a drop in air temperature. Tomorrow, April 7, most of our territory will find itself behind this front, meaning a new cold air mass will move in, and daytime temperatures will decrease to +6 to +9 degrees Celsius. It will be warmer in the south and east, with temperatures ranging from +9 to +13 degrees, but by April 8, the cold snap will push into those regions as well. On Tuesday, damp weather with periodic rain will prevail, and there is a likelihood of wet snow on April 8-9," the expert reported.
Didenko also highlighted that in addition to frost and wet snow, strong winds are expected across Ukraine, which could reach stormy gusts. She provided an approximate date for the next warming trend, which she said could occur around April 14-15.
"Attention. During the night hours, frost is possible in the west, north, northeast, and occasionally in some central regions of Ukraine. An uncomfortable component of the upcoming weather will be the strong northwestern wind, with gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second in some areas tomorrow. In Kyiv on April 7, a drop in temperature to +7 to +9 degrees is expected, with occasional rain. On Tuesday, the capital will experience strong northwestern winds. Therefore, it is not advisable to dress lightly in jackets, raincoats, and without hats—make sure to dress warmly, preferably with a hood, and at least have a hat in your bag. In summary, a cold snap is coming, but warming will also arrive around April 14-15," the expert forecasted.
Thus, Ukrainians should prepare for a sharp decline in temperatures, rain, and wet snow, as well as strong winds that may cause certain inconveniences. Meteorologists recommend exercising caution and considering weather conditions when planning activities.
