Youth in Pompeii, Italy Raises €2000 at Charity Fair

In Pompeii, Italy, a charity fair organized by local youth successfully raised an impressive sum of €2000. This information was reported by Ukrinform, citing the official website of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC).

The charity fair held in Pompeii, Italy, saw local youth come together to raise an impressive €2000 for charitable causes. According to a report by Ukrinform, this significant achievement was shared through the official website of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC).

Approximately 30 members of the youth community participated in the preparation of this important event, alongside the sisters Maria Dobro and Maria Utiha from the Congregation of the Incarnate Word. Through their collective efforts, the volunteers baked and decorated over 700 gingerbread cookies, which became the main item for sale at the fair.

Tetyana Romaniuk, the community coordinator, noted that the idea for the charity fair emerged from the local pastor and founder of the community, Father Ihor Stus. He called on the youth to respond to the appeal made by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, who urged support for the Church's media projects and the continuation of systematic assistance to the Ukrainian military.

The funds raised will be distributed equally: €1000 will be directly allocated to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while another €1000 will be directed to support the media resource 'Live Television'. Tetyana Romaniuk emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, 'Supporting these initiatives is a vital component of our collective struggle—not only for territorial integrity but also for the spiritual strength of the Ukrainian people.'

The community 'Be a Human', which organized the fair, is celebrating its ninth anniversary this year. It was established on the ninth day after the death of Patriarch Lubomyr Husar and became the first organization under his spiritual patronage. Members of the community actively participate in parish life, assist orphanages, and regularly organize events to support Ukraine.

The organizers also reminded everyone that anyone interested can make a donation to support the media project 'Live Television' using the details available on the resource's website.

Recently, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta received humanitarian aid collected by the Ukrainian community in Italy to support their homeland. This initiative underscores the solidarity of Ukrainians abroad and their readiness to assist their native country during these challenging times.
