Ukrainian Government Registers Church in Druzhkivka and Sviatohirsk Lavra Complex as Cultural Heritage Sites

On Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine convened and adopted a resolution from the Ministry of Culture, which aims to include 13 cultural heritage sites of national significance located in the Donetsk region into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine.

Among these sites, the St. Nicholas Church in Druzhkivka stands out, as does the complex of the Sviatohirsk Holy Assumption Lavra. This information was shared by the Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Tetiana Berezhna, on her Facebook page.

According to Berezhna, the inclusion of these sites in the register is a crucial step in preserving Ukraine's cultural heritage, especially in a context where many monuments are at risk due to military actions and other negative factors. She emphasized that the protection of cultural heritage is a priority for the state, and such decisions contribute to the preservation of historical memory for future generations.

The St. Nicholas Church in Druzhkivka, built in the 19th century, is an important architectural site noted for its unique architectural style and historical value. The Sviatohirsk Holy Assumption Lavra complex, which has also been included in the register, is one of Ukraine's most significant monasteries.
