The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a significant decision aimed at improving the dining conditions for students in educational institutions. The government has allocated an additional 46.5 million UAH in subsidies to communities for the completion of school cafeteria modernization. This announcement was made by Prime Minister Yulia Syvrydenko on her official Telegram channel.

Yulia Syvrydenko noted that funding will be provided to 19 projects that began in 2025 and are already at a high level of readiness, with at least 60% completed. This decision aims to expedite the completion of ongoing projects and open modern cafeterias for children, which is critically important in ensuring quality nutrition for students.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that approximately 20% of food blocks in educational institutions have already been modernized. Specifically, 188 of these have been updated with state subsidy funds. Additionally, over 1,500 cafeterias have been modernized using local budget funds and with the support of international partners, demonstrating active collaboration at all levels.

School meals are currently being provided to students in grades 1-11 in frontline communities, as well as to students in grades 1-4 in other regions. This initiative allows for the provision of necessary hot lunches for children, which is critically important for their health and education. Our goal, as the Prime Minister stated, is to ensure that all schoolchildren across the country receive hot lunches starting from September 1 of this year.

This decision is part of a broader program to modernize school nutrition, which aims not only to improve food quality but also to create comfortable learning environments for children. The Ukrainian government continues to work on ensuring proper conditions for education and nutrition, recognizing the importance of these aspects for the development of the younger generation.
