Ulyutin: We Have Sufficient Funds for Social Payments
Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Ulyutin stated on Tuesday during a national telethon that the state budget has enough funds to ensure social payments, which is particularly significant given the economic challenges facing the country.
Denys Ulyutin, the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, declared on Tuesday during a national telethon that the Ukrainian state budget contains adequate funds for the implementation of social payments. This announcement comes at a crucial time as the country grapples with various economic challenges.
Ulyutin emphasized that all social payments have already been budgeted, with the budget structured both in the Pension Fund and the Ministry of Social Policy. He reassured the public by stating, "I want to assure everyone that we have sufficient funds for such payments." His remarks were in response to concerns regarding potential risks of funding shortages for social payments within the budget.
It is noteworthy that the state budget for 2026 allocates 468.5 billion hryvnias for the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity. This allocation reflects the government's serious approach to addressing the social needs of the population, despite the challenging economic situation in the country.
Furthermore, at the beginning of February, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a balanced budget for the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) for 2026. The total revenue and expenditure of this budget amount to 1,263.3 billion hryvnias, which also indicates the stability of the financial system concerning social payments.
Ulyutin highlighted that ensuring social payments is one of the government's priorities, expressing hope that the availability of sufficient funds will prevent any delays in these payments. He also urged citizens not to worry about potential difficulties in financing social programs.
This statement from the minister is significant for many Ukrainians who rely on social payments to support their families during difficult times. Amidst the ongoing war and economic instability, social payments play a crucial role in ensuring social justice and supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population.
It is important to remember that social payments in Ukraine encompass pensions, assistance for low-income families, child benefits, and other forms of social support. The government continues to work on improving the social security system to ensure an adequate standard of living for all citizens.
