Ukreximbank to Close Branches in Poltava and Sumy

The management of state-owned Ukreximbank, one of Ukraine's leading financial institutions, has made a significant decision to close its branches in the cities of Poltava and Sumy as part of a transformation of its regional network aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

The decision was made on April 1, 2026, and the last working day for both branches has been set for July 6, 2026. This move is part of a broader strategy to optimize the bank's operations and improve its competitiveness in the current economic environment.

It is important to note that a new representation of the bank will be opened at the location of the Poltava branch, situated at 1/65 Symon Petliura Street. This new representation is set to commence operations on July 7, 2026. Currently, the Poltava branch serves a wide range of clients, including corporate, medium, and retail businesses, as well as municipalities and the communal sector.

The new representation in Poltava will focus on informational and presentation activities, providing consulting and informational support to clients. This initiative aims to enhance interaction with business and financial circles, ensuring that clients have access to up-to-date information regarding collaboration opportunities.

The Ukreximbank branch in Sumy, located at 1 Independence Square, also plays a vital role in serving clients, including corporate, medium, and retail businesses, as well as local authorities and the communal sector. The closure of this branch marks another step in the reorganization of the bank's network to meet modern market demands.

According to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, as of February 1, 2026, Ukreximbank ranked third among 60 banks in the country in terms of total assets, which amounted to 327.35 billion UAH. The number of the bank's branches at the beginning of 2026 was 23, indicating its significant influence on Ukraine's financial system.

These structural changes within the bank are part of a strategy aimed at optimizing operations and enhancing the competitiveness of Ukreximbank in the current economic landscape. The bank's management hopes that the new representation in Poltava will effectively meet client needs and contribute to business development in the region.
