It is noteworthy that on the night of April 1-2, the armed forces of the aggressor state, the Russian Federation, launched a massive attack on Ukraine, employing 172 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of types Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. This information was confirmed by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In response to these attacks, the Ukrainian air defense system actively engaged, utilizing aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Thanks to coordinated actions, Ukrainian military personnel managed to neutralize 147 Russian UAVs of various types.
Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summarized that 22 drones were hit at 12 locations, and debris from the downed targets fell in eight additional places. These data indicate that the Ukrainian air defense continues to effectively fulfill its tasks, countering aerial threats.
