Ukrainians Warned of Potential Missile and Drone Attack Overnight April 2-3: Mayor Urges Residents to Stock Up on Water
Ukrainians have been alerted to a high likelihood of missile and drone attacks by Russian occupiers during the night of April 2-3. The head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional administration has urged citizens to heed air raid signals.
In the night from April 2 to 3, Ukrainians were warned about a high probability of missile and drone attacks that may be carried out by Russian occupiers. This information was announced by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk, who urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts.
“In the near future, there is a high probability of missile and drone attacks! Do not ignore air raid signals. Take care of yourself and your loved ones,” she wrote on her social media page, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety measures.
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, also addressed the city's residents, recommending that they stock up on water. “Respond to the alerts in the near future! I recommend stocking up on water!” he stressed, highlighting the need to be prepared for possible emergencies.
Furthermore, the informational monitoring Telegram channel “Fluffy Radar” reported the takeoff of enemy aircraft from the Olenya airfield. “Takeoff of Tu-95MS aircraft from the Olenya airfield has been recorded. We are monitoring the situation. In case of danger, we will inform separately,” the channel's message stated, indicating an escalation of hostile actions.
On the night of April 1 to 2, the aggressor state, the Russian Federation, employed 172 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of types Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others against Ukraine. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasizing that the situation remains tense.
The Ukrainian forces repelled the air assault using aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Ukrainian air defense system, 147 Russian UAVs of various types were neutralized.
According to military sources, 22 drones were reported to have hit 12 locations, and debris from the downed targets fell in eight additional places. These figures were summarized by officers monitoring the situation in the airspace.
In light of these events, Ukrainians are urged to remain vigilant and prepared for potential threats. Authorities continue to inform the public about the situation, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety measures in wartime.
