Ukrainian House in Tbilisi Hosts Charity Fair
A charity fair organized by the Ukrainian House took place in Tbilisi, attracting both Ukrainians and foreign guests interested in Ukrainian culture and traditions.
A charity fair was held in Tbilisi, organized by the Ukrainian House, as reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia on their Facebook page. This event drew attention not only from Ukrainians but also from foreign guests who expressed interest in Ukrainian culture and traditions.
At the fair, Ukrainian artisans showcased a wide range of unique handmade products. From clothing items to festive decorations, every visitor could find something special for themselves. These products reflect the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine, as well as the talent and creativity of Ukrainian craftsmen.
The food zone became a special focal point of the event. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Ukrainian dishes such as hot borscht and dumplings. Additionally, a wide selection of traditional products was available for purchase for Easter baskets, including homemade lard, ham, and sausage. These dishes not only delighted the taste buds but also served as a reminder of the beloved home cuisine.
The organizers ensured entertainment for different generations. While adults mingled, savored coffee, and exchanged books, children were provided with both modern and traditional activities. Kids had the chance to learn about the principles of 3D printing and participate in the nationwide charity initiative “Pysanka Unity.” This allowed children not only to have fun but also to engage in an important cultural tradition.
Moreover, children were given invitations to upcoming classes on wool felting and pysanka painting organized by the “Georgian-Ukrainian Platform.” These activities promote the development of creative skills in children and help preserve Ukrainian traditions.
The main goal of the event, besides preserving traditions, was to raise funds to assist those affected by the war. During the fair, a charity collection was initiated, with funds to be directed towards the needs of Ukrainian children who have suffered due to the conflict. This underscores the importance of solidarity and support for those in need.
“It is pleasing to see foreign guests attending the event – we sincerely thank them for their interest and support,” noted representatives of the diplomatic mission. This indicates that Ukrainian culture is garnering interest within the international community and contributes to forming a positive image of Ukraine abroad.
It is worth reminding that within the framework of the National Poetry Reading Week at the “Ukrainian House” in Tbilisi, a creative meeting was also held with a prominent figure in cultural diplomacy – Raul Chilaia. The evening titled “Word about the ‘Caucasus’” became a symbol of the spiritual unity of the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples, emphasizing the importance of cultural ties between the countries.
