On Tuesday, October 24, the Ukrainian company 'General Cherry', which specializes in defense technologies, and the Croatian company ORQA, known for its production of drones and related equipment, announced the commencement of their collaboration. Both companies signed a memorandum formalizing their partnership and outlining their intentions to develop manufacturing capacities in Ukraine and Croatia. This information was provided by the press service of 'General Cherry', as reported by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
'We are embarking on a significant and wonderful partnership with a company that has decades of experience and leading expertise in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry. Our goal is shared and clear: to collaboratively create a new architecture for European and global security. Our unique Ukrainian experience, combined with ORQA's technological expertise, is a perfect match. We are ready to change the game,' stated Yaroslav Gryshyn, co-founder of 'General Cherry'.
As part of the collaboration, the companies will initiate the development of large-scale production of components in Ukraine. Specifically, under the 'Build in Ukraine' program, plans are underway to construct an underground facility for the production of various components and peripherals for UAVs. Additionally, joint serial production will begin in Croatia, where cutting-edge technologies in the drone industry will be developed, as noted in the official announcement.
The primary objective of the collaboration between the companies is the complete localization of component production in Ukraine, which will reduce dependence on foreign suppliers. Moreover, the companies aim to modernize NATO countries' military capabilities and strengthen the existing capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'This moment marks an important step forward for both parties and is driven by a shared desire to strengthen the future security system of all NATO member countries. Ukraine's real combat experience, combined with ORQA's advanced technical capabilities, creates a partnership with exceptional potential. By joining forces, we aim not only to participate in shaping the future of security but also to actively transform it,' emphasized Srđan Kovačević, co-founder and CEO of ORQA.
'General Cherry' (General Cherry Corp.) boasts a portfolio of 33 codified products, including FPV drones and interceptor drones. It became the first company in Ukraine to receive AQAP 2110 certification, confirming its quality management system's compliance with NATO standards.
ORQA is the largest manufacturer of UAVs and components in Europe, operating in over 50 countries worldwide, including 24 NATO member countries. The company produces its products entirely without using components from other countries, underscoring its independence and technological self-sufficiency.
