In a recent announcement by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an agreement has been reached between Ukraine and Syria to establish embassies in the capitals of both countries, marking a significant step in strengthening their partnership.

In a recent announcement made via Telegram, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that Ukraine and Syria have reached an agreement to open embassies in Kyiv and Damascus. This initiative, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Sybiha, represents an important step towards enhancing the partnership between the two nations.

"We have agreed to open embassies in Kyiv and Damascus in the near future - a significant step in strengthening our partnership," stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Sybiha. This development reflects the commitment of both countries to foster collaboration across various sectors.

During a meeting held as part of diplomatic negotiations, the Ukrainian side discussed several critical areas and initiatives with their Syrian counterparts, primarily focusing on security issues. Sybiha emphasized that "the security of Europe and the Middle East is interconnected," and both nations will continue to work together to achieve sustainable peace for their peoples.

In addition to security matters, the ministers also addressed logistical issues, including the development of trade and maritime routes between the two countries. "Food security remains an important direction. Ukraine is ready to contribute, particularly through initiatives like 'Grain from Ukraine,' to support stability in the region," assured Sybiha, highlighting the significance of agricultural cooperation.

The discussions also touched upon humanitarian and educational cooperation. "Many Syrian students have studied and continue to study in Ukraine — this is a strong foundation that we intend to develop," concluded the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, stressing the importance of educational exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations.

It is noteworthy that earlier, the presidents of Ukraine and Syria agreed on cooperation aimed at ensuring greater security and creating opportunities for the development of both states. This agreement could serve as a basis for further enhancing relations between the two countries, which share common interests in various fields.
