Ukraine Exports Record Volume of Sunflower Oil to Jordan in March
March 2026 marked a significant milestone for Ukraine's agricultural sector as the country exported a record volume of sunflower oil to Jordan, totaling approximately 35,000 tons. This figure is 7.7 times higher than the shipments recorded in February, indicating a substantial increase in demand for Ukrainian products in international markets.
March 2026 became a landmark month for Ukraine's agricultural sector, as the country achieved a record export of sunflower oil to Jordan, amounting to around 35,000 tons. This impressive figure represents a staggering 7.7-fold increase compared to the volumes recorded in February, highlighting a significant surge in demand for Ukrainian agricultural products on global markets. The information was reported by the agency 'APK-Inform,' which specializes in agricultural analytics.
According to the agency's data, a notable increase in sunflower oil exports was also observed towards Turkey, where 40,000 tons were dispatched. This marked the highest export level in the past ten months and was 2.4 times greater than the figures from February. Additionally, exports to Saudi Arabia reached an eight-month high of 15,000 tons, showcasing an impressive growth of 14 times compared to the previous month.
Analysts point out that the increase in shipments to several countries in the Middle East is attributed to the ongoing military conflict in the region, as well as supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz, where key ports and terminals are located. In such circumstances, companies have been compelled to seek alternative delivery routes, particularly overland, utilizing neighboring countries that have access to the Red Sea. This strategic shift has enabled Ukrainian producers to discover new markets and maintain their competitiveness.
However, not all export directions are exhibiting positive dynamics. In March, shipments to the United Arab Emirates decreased by 32%, while exports to Qatar plummeted by 85%. Furthermore, there were no shipments to Iraq during this period. Overall, including Turkey, a total of 106,600 tons of Ukrainian oil were exported to Middle Eastern countries in March, nearly doubling February's figures and marking the largest volume since June 2025.
According to 'APK-Inform,' the total export of sunflower oil from Ukraine in March 2026 was the largest since the beginning of the 2025/26 marketing year, amounting to approximately 427,000 tons. This represents an 18% increase compared to February, although it is 3% lower than the figures from March 2025. These results indicate the resilience of Ukraine's agricultural sector, despite the challenges posed by the ongoing war and global economic changes.
