Ukraine Joins Talks on the Strait of Hormuz, Offering Black Sea Security Expertise – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian military forces have joined consultations regarding the future operations of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the country's expertise in ensuring maritime security.

In a recent evening address published on social media, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Ukrainian military forces have engaged in discussions about the future functioning of the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic waterway is crucial for global oil transportation, and Zelensky's announcement marks Ukraine's proactive involvement in international security dialogues.

Zelensky underscored the importance of safe navigation as a global value, asserting that Ukraine possesses significant experience in ensuring maritime security in the Black Sea region. He stated, "It is essential that everyone in the world values this as well," highlighting the shared responsibility of nations to maintain safe passage in international waters.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine is also working on organizing supply chains with European partners and countries in the Middle East. He described this initiative as part of a broader model of cooperation, in which Ukraine exports its security expertise while simultaneously receiving support for its own energy security and resilience. This dual approach aims to strengthen Ukraine's position in the international arena.

The President further noted that Middle Eastern countries currently facing conflicts are in urgent need of expertise and responsive measures. "Ukrainian expertise has proven effective, and everyone acknowledges this. As a result, there are long-term agreements on security cooperation," he added, emphasizing the trust that has been built through Ukraine's contributions.

In the coming weeks, Zelensky indicated that the focus would be on coordination with European partners, which includes joint production, defense modernization, funding programs, and broader security collaboration. This strategic alignment aims to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure stability in the region.

Zelensky also highlighted the increasing demand from Asian countries for security cooperation and instructed officials to respond swiftly to these requests. "The key is to continuously provide Ukraine with real opportunities for defense," he stressed, reflecting the urgency of bolstering national security in light of ongoing threats.

This initiative signifies a revitalization of Ukrainian diplomacy and military collaboration on the international stage, which is particularly crucial given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the escalating situation in the Middle East. By positioning itself as a key player in global security discussions, Ukraine aims to assert its influence and foster international partnerships that can enhance regional stability.
