Ukraine Confirms Readiness for Easter and Energy Ceasefire – Foreign Ministry

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, represented by spokesperson Georgiy Tikhy, has confirmed the country's readiness for an Easter ceasefire, which includes a halt to hostilities and energy attacks. This statement was made during a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, where Tikhy noted that Ukraine is prepared for peace agreements if Russia also decides to cease its aggressive actions.

Tikhy emphasized that Ukraine's willingness to engage in an Easter ceasefire remains firm, adding that the country is also prepared for an energy ceasefire. "If Russia stops its strikes, then Ukraine is ready to reciprocate," he stated, indicating the possibility of mutual steps towards peace.

The spokesperson of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also highlighted the international context, pointing out that examples from the Middle East demonstrate that agreements can work even in challenging situations, including with countries that have a reputation for being unconstructive, such as Iran. This indicates that diplomatic efforts can lead to positive outcomes, despite historical difficulties.

Earlier on the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also confirmed the country's readiness for reciprocal actions if the Russian side decides to halt its attacks. In his message on his Telegram channel, he noted that Ukraine has always called for a ceasefire in the ongoing war in Europe, emphasizing that this is crucial for the protection of the Ukrainian state and its people.

Zelensky stressed that a peaceful silence in the Middle East and in the Gulf could open new opportunities for diplomatic efforts. "It is evident to everyone that a ceasefire can create the right conditions for agreements," he wrote, urging for constructive dialogue and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
