Ukraine to Benefit from War in the Gulf Region, Acting as a Security Contributor – Experts

Ukraine's role in the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region is under active discussion, with experts noting that the country not only stands to gain but also serves as a crucial security guarantor for neighboring states.

In Ukraine, there is an active discussion regarding the country's role in the context of the war in the Gulf region, where it not only stands to benefit but also acts as an important security guarantor for neighboring states. This was stated by the director of the Intermarium Institute, PhD in History Valentyn Haidai, during a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

Haidai noted that several countries could benefit from this conflict. In particular, he highlighted Israel, for which Iran represents an existential enemy. 'The first country is Israel, because for Israel, Iran or the current regime in Iran is an existential enemy, that is, a civilizational one,' the expert emphasized. He also pointed to Russia, which, on one hand, may receive financial revenues from oil sales, but on the other hand, is losing its real allies.

Among the countries that could benefit from the conflict, Haidai singled out Ukraine. 'One of the few countries that will win is Ukraine, because Ukraine shares its colossal and universal experience, which is unmatched in the world, in countering drones,' he noted. According to him, Ukraine is enhancing its role as a reliable partner and a country with which cooperation is both possible and necessary.

Serhiy Yahodynskyi, Vice-Rector of the European University and a political expert, emphasized that Ukraine is not selling war to the Middle East but is offering security tools to the countries in the region. 'It is no coincidence that we speak of Ukraine as a contributor to security. This is a very correct message,' he said. Yahodynskyi stressed that Ukraine is not taking sides in the conflict but is proposing an alternative security vector.

The expert also pointed out that for Saudi Arabia, the current oil prices are extremely disadvantageous. 'Saudi Arabia is a country that functions, earns, and builds its global geopolitical architecture and international policy only in conditions of stability,' Yahodynskyi noted. He emphasized that Ukraine can offer the stability and security necessary for the economic development of Gulf countries.

Yahodynskyi also highlighted the importance of clearly delineating Ukraine's participation in the war, which, unfortunately, harms its potential. 'We offer security, we offer peace, we offer stability, and we will ask later, we may even demand, that this peace prevails in Ukraine as well,' he concluded, emphasizing that Ukraine's actions in the Middle East are an investment in future peace in Ukraine.

Military expert and former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleg Starykov also expressed the opinion on the importance of attracting investments from Gulf countries for the restoration of the Ukrainian economy after the war ends. He reminded that Saudi Arabia had already invested in the Ukrainian defense industry even before the full-scale war in Ukraine began. These investments could become a crucial factor for the development of Ukraine's military-industrial complex in the future.
