Ukrainian Red Cross Assists Victims of Nighttime Russian Attack in Odesa

According to information published on the official URC Facebook page, a rapid response team in the Odesa region, in collaboration with all local emergency services, actively participated in addressing the aftermath of the latest assault. It is significant to note that URC volunteers managed to rescue four individuals from the rubble, including a two-year-old child, highlighting the severity of the situation and the urgent need for assistance.
Furthermore, the volunteers provided first aid to eight injured individuals. Four of them were transported to medical facilities for further hospitalization, indicating the seriousness of their injuries. Additionally, twelve people who were experiencing acute stress reactions received initial psychological support, which is a crucial step in recovery following traumatic events.
A support point was established at the scene, where the URC team, in close coordination with local authorities, is providing humanitarian assistance to all affected individuals. This includes not only medical aid but also psychological support, which is extremely important during such challenging times.
It is noteworthy that as a result of this attack by Russian occupiers on Odesa, three people lost their lives, including one child. Sixteen others sustained injuries of varying severity. In the Primorsky district of the city, the enemy inflicted significant damage, including the destruction of a residential high-rise complex and seven private homes. In the Kyiv district, one high-rise building, five private houses, a private preschool, a shop, and 27 vehicles were also damaged.
This attack serves as yet another confirmation of the horrific consequences of the war being waged by Russia against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Red Cross team continues its work, saving lives and providing support to those in greatest need.
