Ukrainian Red Cross Aids in Recovery from Nighttime Russian Airstrikes in Kharkiv

The Ukrainian Red Cross (UCR) is actively involved in the recovery efforts following the recent nighttime Russian missile and drone attacks in Kharkiv. These assaults, which persisted for more than a day, inflicted considerable damage on the city and its inhabitants. The UCR announced its participation in the aftermath of these attacks through a Facebook post on Friday.

According to information released by the UCR, a rapid response team from the organization is operating at all locations where the shelling occurred, in collaboration with other rescue services. Volunteers are diligently surveying surrounding areas, as well as damaged buildings and residential homes. They are conducting apartment checks to identify victims, providing first aid and psychological support to those in need.

The National Police of Ukraine reported that five individuals were injured as a result of the nighttime shelling in Kharkiv, including an infant. The attacks targeted the Osnovyansky, Kyiv, and Shevchenkivsky districts of the city. Russian military forces employed drones and missiles, causing extensive destruction. In the early hours, the Russian army launched new missile strikes, resulting in shattered windows in apartment buildings and additional casualties.

UCR volunteers are not only providing medical assistance but are also engaged in search and rescue operations, helping to locate individuals who may be trapped under debris.
