Turkey Warns of Risk of Conflict Expansion to Other Countries

In a significant statement following a government meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warned of the real risk that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could spread to other nations.

Last evening, after a government meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made an important statement regarding the current situation in the Middle East. According to the Turkish leader, there is a real risk that the escalation of conflict could extend to other countries. This information was reported by a correspondent from Ukrinform.

Erdoğan emphasized that since the onset of the war, which has now lasted for 38 days, Turkey continues to share the same concerns that have been expressed previously. "We have warned that with the escalation of war, the flames could spread to other nations. Unfortunately, on the 38th day of the conflict, we still share the same concerns," he noted.

The Turkish president also highlighted the necessity of intensifying diplomatic efforts to halt the hostilities. He expressed hope that if there is even the slightest chance for achieving peace, it should be seized. "Our desire is to bring an end to this illegal, senseless, and extremely costly war for humanity as soon as possible," Erdoğan added, underscoring the importance of peace negotiations.

Furthermore, the politician drew attention to the global energy crisis that is being exacerbated by the conflict in the Middle East. "The Strait of Hormuz is not just a passage; it is a critical route through which 20% of the world's oil and a significant portion of natural gas is transported. The closure of Hormuz deeply impacts the global economy across all sectors—from energy to agriculture, from industry to technology," he stressed, pointing out the importance of stability in the region.

It is worth recalling that earlier, on April 4, the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey met in Istanbul, where they agreed on new steps in cooperation regarding security. This meeting underscored the importance of partnership between the countries in the face of increasing threats in the region.

In light of these events, it is crucial to monitor the developments, as conflicts in the Middle East have the potential to impact global security and economy.
