According to the information provided, a 29-year-old resident of Sambir committed the robbery in a local store in August 2025. The man approached a minor girl who was working in the store and asked her to place several items into his bag, promising to pay for them at the checkout. Trusting him, the girl placed three pairs of headphones and four smartwatches into his backpack.
However, the store's security guard, noticing the man's suspicious behavior on the surveillance cameras, decided to check whether he truly intended to pay for the items. When the guard appeared in the sales area, the robber, realizing that he had been exposed, fled the store, passing by the checkout with the stolen goods.
Six months later, in December, the same man committed another crime—he robbed a police vehicle. The incident occurred at night when the car was left unlocked. The man took advantage of this and removed a backpack from the vehicle, which contained a multi-tool, a bulletproof helmet, a rubber baton, forms, and an alcohol tester.
The total amount of damages caused to both the store and the Department of Patrol Police exceeded 51,000 hryvnias. As a result, the suspect was charged with theft and robbery, for which the court sentenced him to seven years and one month in prison.
According to the court's decision, until the sentence comes into legal force, the convicted individual will remain in custody. This case has sparked significant public interest in the local community, as such crimes pose a threat to the safety of residents and their property.
It is worth noting that law enforcement agencies are actively working to prevent similar crimes in the region, increasing patrol levels and monitoring public order. This incident serves as a clear example of the importance of being vigilant and cautious, especially in public places.
