Explosions Reported in Three Regions of Russia, Likely Targeting Munitions Arsenal - Media

Reports from Russia indicate that strong explosions were heard in three regions on Tuesday evening, possibly linked to an attack on a munitions arsenal in the Vladimir region.

In Russia, according to media reports, around 8:00 PM local time on Tuesday, residents in three regions witnessed powerful explosions. The news agency Ukrinform noted that an analysis conducted by the company Astra suggests that these explosions may be connected to an attack on an arsenal of engineering munitions located in the Alexandrovsky district of the Vladimir region.

Local residents captured the explosions on video in the cities of Sergiev Posad in the Moscow region and Pereslavl-Zalessky in the Yaroslavl region. Additionally, footage of smoke and fire glow has surfaced online, recorded in several settlements within the Vladimir region. However, the governors of these regions have yet to provide official comments regarding the situation.

The administration of the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky attempted to reassure the population, stating that the sounds heard by residents were related to aircraft breaking the sound barrier rather than explosions. This explanation has raised doubts among local residents who witnessed the events.

According to the analysis by Astra, a video showing smoke over the city of Strunino in the Vladimir region was filmed approximately 7.5 kilometers from the 1263rd arsenal of engineering munitions. However, it remains unclear what specifically caused the smoke and explosions in this area.

The NASA Firms monitoring system did not detect any fires in the area of the arsenal, raising further questions about the nature of the explosions. Notably, the 1263rd Order of the Red Banner Central Arsenal of Engineering Munitions, designated as 42754 in the Russian Ministry of Defense system, is located near the village of Arsaki in the Alexandrovsky district of the Vladimir region, approximately 22 kilometers west of the city of Alexandrov. This arsenal serves as a military compound and storage facility for engineering munitions.

It is important to recall that on the night of April 7, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Ust-Luga Oil terminal in Slobodka, Leningrad region, Russia. This information underscores the escalation of military actions in the region and the growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
