Search Continues for Missing 4-Year-Old Boy in Rivne Region

Authorities in the Rivne region are intensifying their search efforts for a 4-year-old boy who went missing on April 5, alongside his 3-year-old brother, whose body has tragically been found.

The police in the Rivne region are actively searching for a 4-year-old boy who vanished on April 5 of this year, together with his 3-year-old brother. Unfortunately, the body of the younger boy was discovered deceased in a body of water, which has sparked significant public concern.

According to information released on the Facebook page of the Rivne region police, on April 5 at approximately 7 PM, a 35-year-old woman, a resident of the village of Kolky, reported to the authorities the disappearance of her two nephews. The woman stated that the children, aged 3 and 4, had gone out to ride their bicycles around 3 PM and had not returned home.

Upon receiving the report, search teams comprising police officers, canine units with service dogs, family members, local residents, concerned citizens, rescuers, and border guards immediately commenced their search efforts. Drones were also deployed to enhance the monitoring of the area, providing aerial views to assist in the search.

During the search, the body of the 3-year-old brother was sadly found, delivering a devastating blow to the family and all those involved in the search. Law enforcement continues to seek the whereabouts of 4-year-old Dmytro, who remains missing.

As of April 6, police representatives reported that the continuous search for the child is ongoing. Search teams are thoroughly examining the forests, nearby settlements, and other potential locations where the boy might be. Meanwhile, divers are meticulously checking the body of water, as authorities do not rule out the possibility of drowning.

The Rivne region police are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in the search. If anyone has knowledge of the child's possible whereabouts, law enforcement officials request that they immediately call the numbers: 066−479−50−18 or 112.
