Ukrainian Community and Diplomats Attend 'Shchedryk' Children's Choir Concert in Prague
In the heart of the Czech Republic, the capital city of Prague hosted a significant concert featuring the 'Shchedryk' children's choir, drawing foreign diplomats, members of the Czech community, and the Ukrainian diaspora together in support of Ukrainian culture and arts.
In the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, a concert featuring the 'Shchedryk' children's choir took place, bringing together foreign diplomats, representatives of the Czech community, and the Ukrainian diaspora. This artistic event, held at the Kostel U Salvátora, became an important occasion that united people of various nationalities in support of Ukrainian culture and arts.
The event was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic on its Facebook page, noting that the concert was not only a celebration of music but also a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit. Ukraine's Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Vasyl Zvarych, emphasized during his speech that the young singers representing Ukraine continue to rehearse and develop amidst ongoing Russian attacks, air raid alerts, and the challenges of lacking light and heat.
“These young performers embody not only musical excellence but also extraordinary strength and resilience. Today, they are learning and growing in Ukraine under the constant threat of Russian attacks – in cold halls, amid the sounds of air raid alerts, in conditions no child should have to endure. Yet, despite this, they continue to sing. They continue to create. They continue to represent Ukraine with dignity on the world stage,” the diplomat stated, highlighting the importance of supporting Ukrainian children during these challenging times.
Vasyl Zvarych also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Czech people and international partners for their unwavering support of Ukraine in its fight for freedom and territorial integrity. He underscored that events like the 'Shchedryk' concert are vital for strengthening cultural ties between countries and for promoting Ukrainian culture abroad.
The embassy extended special thanks to the choir's conductor, Marianna Sablina, for her high professionalism, as well as to the head of the public organization 'International Institute of Cultural Diplomacy', Tetiana Kalita, for organizing this important event. Gratitude was also expressed to the rector of the church, Tomáš Trusina, for the warm welcome and for providing the venue for the concert.
The concert served as a powerful chord of cultural diplomacy, reminding the world of the strength of Ukrainian music and the resilience of the nation through the voices of children. This celebration of art demonstrated that despite all hardships, Ukrainian children continue to create and inspire others.
It is worth noting that recently, the capital of the Czech Republic also hosted the presentation of the first Ukrainian editions by the world-renowned Czech illustrator Miroslav Šašek. The guidebooks 'This is Paris' and 'This is London' are now available to Ukrainian readers, further confirming the active cultural cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
