Nearly ₴1 Million Allocated to Victims of Shelling in Poltava
In a decisive move, the Poltava Executive Committee has approved significant financial assistance for families affected by recent enemy shelling, as announced by the city's council secretary, Kateryna Yamshykova.
During an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee in Poltava, an important decision was made regarding the provision of material assistance to families who have suffered due to hostile shelling. This was reported by the secretary of the Poltava City Council, Kateryna Yamshykova, on her Telegram channel, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
According to the decision made, three families whose homes were severely damaged as a result of the attack will each receive ₴300,000. These funds are intended for long-term housing rentals, as well as for the purchase of essential items. Additionally, ₴50,000 has been allocated for the medical treatment of one of the victims who sustained injuries from the Russian strike.
Yamshykova noted that assistance has been granted to those Poltava residents who have already submitted complete documentation confirming their status as victims. The Executive Committee will continue to make decisions regarding other affected families immediately after receiving the relevant documents, demonstrating the authorities' readiness to respond promptly to the needs of citizens in challenging circumstances.
In addition to financial aid, materials such as slate and OSB boards have also been provided from the material reserve, enabling residents to quickly cover damaged roofs and windows of their homes. This is a crucial step towards ensuring safety and comfortable living conditions for those affected by the shelling.
As of 5:00 PM, efforts to eliminate the consequences of the attack are ongoing at the site. Yamshykova reported that work will continue on April 3, with both municipal services and specialized equipment being involved to expedite the restoration of normal life in the city.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, a hostile attack in the Poltava community resulted in an incident involving the crash of a drone, which injured six people. This situation underscores the seriousness of the threat facing the region and the necessity for a swift and effective response from local authorities.
