In the early hours of April 6, 2023, around 2:20 AM, the warehouse of Star Brands, a prominent snack manufacturer, became the target of an attack by Russian drones in Pavlohrad. According to the news agency Ukrinform, two enemy Shahed-type drones struck the warehouse, leading to a fire and extensive damage. In total, five drones were reported in the area, with Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepting three of them.
The company Star Brands, which specializes in the production of snacks, grains, flour, and other food products, confirmed the incident on its Facebook page. They noted that the warehouse sustained considerable destruction, but thanks to the prompt actions of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), more serious consequences were avoided. "This night could have been tragic if not for the professionalism of the SES and the preparedness of our team, who were sheltered during the alert. The rescuers did everything possible, evacuated employees, and began extinguishing the fire. Currently, the condition of the employees is satisfactory; they are safe," the company stated in its message.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the area of destruction at the warehouse is approximately 5,500 square meters. An evaluation of the material damages caused by the attack is currently underway. The management of Snack Production Group, which includes Star Brands, reported that the logistics team is operating in emergency mode, implementing a rerouting plan to ensure timely fulfillment of orders for partners and clients.
This incident is not the first time that Star Brands has faced attacks from Russian forces. However, company representatives emphasize that the team consistently finds prompt and effective solutions to ensure service to their clients and restore their operational base. "We are tirelessly creating and developing star brands that you see on store shelves every day and that have been with you through various moments in life for a long time," highlighted Star Brands.
It is worth noting that, according to Ukrinform, Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 77 out of 110 drones that Russian troops used to attack Ukrainian territory starting the evening of April 6. This situation underscores the ongoing threat posed by Russian drones and the necessity of supporting the country's defensive capabilities.
