Drinking Water Quality in Mykolaiv Region Fails Standards, Warns State Consumer Service

The State Consumer Service of Mykolaiv region has issued alarming information regarding the quality of drinking water in the area, revealing serious issues in several localities.

The Main Department of the State Consumer Service in Mykolaiv region has released concerning information about the quality of drinking water in the region. In a statement on their official Facebook page, the service noted that inspection results have uncovered significant problems with water in a number of settlements across Mykolaiv region.

According to the conducted research, specialists examined six business entities located in the Berezneguvat, Volodymyrivka, Sofiivka, and Inhul communities. During the analysis, 55 water samples were taken, of which 49 were found to be non-compliant with physical and chemical standards, while 9 samples failed to meet microbiological criteria. This indicates substantial deviations from established norms that could pose health risks to the population.

In particular, deviations in microbiological parameters were identified in the town of Berezneguvat, as well as in the villages of Novovolodymyrivka, Maliivka, Novo-Ochakiv, Serhiivka, and Lotskyne. This means that the water in these localities may be unsafe for consumption. Conversely, in the water treatment points of the villages of Novoukrainka, Vysunsk, Kaluga, and in the well of Sofiivka, the water meets established standards, which is a positive sign for residents of these areas.

The specialists of the State Consumer Service have not remained indifferent to this situation. They have conducted several meetings with representatives of businesses involved in water supply and provided recommendations to address the identified violations. Among the proposed measures are the organization of laboratory control over water quality and proper maintenance of water supply facilities. These are crucial steps that could help improve the water quality situation in the region.

This issue with water quality in Mykolaiv region is not new. As previously reported, significant deterioration in the quality of tap water was also observed in Mykolaiv at the beginning of March. This raised concerns among residents who are demanding improvements in water consumption conditions. Currently, the State Consumer Service continues to monitor the situation and is taking measures to ensure the safety of water supply.

Residents of Mykolaiv region are urged to be cautious and attentive to the quality of the water they consume and to follow the recommendations of specialists. It is important to remember that the health of each of us depends on the quality of the water we drink daily.
