The 'Look Ukrainian!' Association has recently revealed the outcomes of the Culture vs War film marathon, which occurred from February 10 to March 31. This extensive event included more than a hundred activities held in 23 countries, encompassing film screenings, photo exhibitions, discussions, and interdisciplinary art events. The marathon was dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, highlighting the significance of cultural support amid the ongoing war.

Among the films showcased were iconic works such as 'Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors' directed by Sergei Parajanov, presented in a restored version. Other notable films included 'You Are Cosmos' by Pavlo Ostrikov, 'Palyanytsia' by Yulia Bolshinska and Kadim Tarasov, 'Culture vs War' by Kadim Tarasov, 'Yasa' by Serhiy Masloboyshchikov, 'Family Album' by Marina Tkachuk, 'Weary' by Yuriy Dunay, and 'Yaroslav the Wise - Father-in-law of Europe' by Olesya Nohina, among many others. These films have become significant cultural markers, showcasing Ukrainian identity and resilience during times of crisis.

In addition to the film screenings, the marathon featured photo exhibitions that attracted the attention of the international community. Notably, the photo exhibition of the 'Capable' project took place at the Gracia Arts Center in Barcelona, known as the 'Catalan Montmartre.' This exhibition served as an essential element of cultural exchange and raised awareness of Ukrainian culture beyond its borders. Additionally, the 'Culture vs War' photo exhibition opened at the Vienna Military-Historical Museum (Heeresgeschichtliches Museum Wien), emphasizing the connection between culture and war, as well as the importance of art in restoring and supporting national identity.

The Culture vs War marathons are part of a series of coordinated film screenings and cultural-artistic events held abroad in connection with significant dates for Ukraine. This initiative is implemented by the 'Look Ukrainian!' Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, underscoring the importance of cultural diplomacy in the face of contemporary challenges.

Thanks to such initiatives, Ukrainian culture continues to occupy a vital place on the international stage, contributing to the formation of a positive image of Ukraine abroad. The Culture vs War film marathon has become a vivid example of how culture can unite people, raise awareness of important social issues, and support national identity during times of crisis.
