Farewell Held in Lviv for Oleg Avdiev, Military Personnel Killed in Attack

On April 4, a farewell ceremony was held in Lviv for Oleg Avdiev, a military member of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK), who tragically lost his life due to a brutal attack. The city-wide ceremony drew numerous residents and visitors who came to honor the memory of the defender who gave his life for Ukraine.

Today, April 4, a farewell ceremony took place in Lviv for Oleg Avdiev, a military personnel from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK), who was killed in a brutal attack. The city-wide ceremony gathered numerous residents and guests of the city who came to pay their respects to the defender who sacrificed his life for Ukraine.

The funeral service began at 11:00 AM at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Following the service, a city-wide farewell ceremony was held at Rynok Square, where the people of Lviv had the opportunity to express their condolences to the family of the deceased and honor his memory.

Prior to the ceremony, the Lviv city authorities urged residents and visitors to refrain from entertainment activities and celebrations on this day, emphasizing the importance of honoring the memory of the hero.

According to information provided by the Ukrinform agency, Oleg Avdiev will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honorary burials No. 87, located on Pasichna Street. The serviceman is survived by his wife, mother, brother, and cousin, who are experiencing difficult times following the loss of their loved one.

It is important to note that on April 2, a tragic incident occurred in Lviv, during which a TCK serviceman was fatally stabbed in the neck. The suspected attacker has been detained. The State Customs Service confirmed that the individual detained on suspicion of murdering the serviceman is an employee of the Lviv Customs.

The detainee has been informed of the suspicion of committing intentional murder of a person performing their official duties, in accordance with paragraph 8 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the 34-year-old customs officer stabbed the serviceman at a moment when his 28-year-old brother was fleeing from a notification group, and the TCK serviceman attempted to stop him. Unfortunately, the serviceman died en route to the hospital, unable to receive medical assistance in time.

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the detainee in the form of detention for a term of 60 days without the right to bail, underscoring the seriousness of the committed crime and its consequences.

This tragedy has been a heavy blow for the family of the deceased and for society as a whole, which is deeply mourning the loss of its defenders. The people of Lviv continue to honor the memory of Oleg Avdiev, who has become a symbol of courage and self-sacrifice in the context of the modern war.
