Customs Officer Kills Soldier During Document Check in Lviv
A tragic incident occurred in Lviv on April 2, when a customs inspector fatally stabbed a soldier from the Territorial Recruitment Center during a routine document check. The shocking event unfolded on Paton Street around 1:40 PM amidst ongoing mobilization efforts.
In Lviv, on April 2, a horrific incident took place where a customs inspector killed a soldier from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCK). According to journalist Vitaliy Hlahola, the tragedy occurred on Paton Street around 1:40 PM during mobilization activities when a joint patrol of police and TCK stopped a vehicle for a document check.
At the time of the check, there were two individuals in the vehicle: 26-year-old Dmytro Trush, born in 1997, and his older brother, Andriy Trush, born on December 23, 1991, who works at the Lviv customs office. Hlahola reported that during the document verification process, the younger brother suddenly attempted to flee, leading to a rapid escalation of events.
Journalist Hlahola claims that the older brother, Andriy Trush, intervened to help his brother escape. In the process, he produced a knife and inflicted a stab wound to the neck of TCK soldier Oleg Avdiyev. "The strike was targeted, aimed at a vital area," Hlahola emphasized, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Following the attack, resuscitation efforts were conducted at the scene, and the victim was urgently transported to an ambulance. Unfortunately, medical personnel were unable to save the soldier, who died in the ambulance before reaching the hospital.
According to information provided by Hlahola, the assailant was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. In connection with this incident, a criminal proceeding was initiated under paragraph 8 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which stipulates liability for intentional murder.
This case has sparked widespread public outcry, as it serves as another testament to the increasing tensions during mobilization efforts in Ukraine.
