Munitions Fall from Russian Su-25 During Training Flight in Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan, munitions fell from a Russian Su-25 aircraft during a training flight, raising concerns about safety and security in the region.

In Kyrgyzstan, an incident occurred during a training flight when munitions fell from a Russian Su-25 aircraft. This information was reported by Ukrinform, citing details provided by Radio Azattyk and the publication 24.kg. The incident took place on March 31 at 5:25 PM local time, as the aircraft was conducting training flights using training munitions.

As a result of the munitions falling to the ground, two craters with a radius of 2-3 meters were formed. The regional police confirmed the incident and reported that materials related to the case have been forwarded to the military prosecutor's office for further investigation. The Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan assured that there were no casualties or damages resulting from the incident.

According to the information from the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, during the training flights of the Su-25 aircraft from the Russian airbase in the city of Kant, there was an 'unauthorized release of two training munitions,' which landed in a wasteland. This has raised concerns among local residents and authorities, as the falling munitions could have led to dangerous consequences.

The command of the Russian Aerospace Forces has already appointed a special commission to ascertain the reasons behind the munitions falling. This indicates a serious approach to investigating the incident, as such occurrences can have severe implications for safety. Until the completion of the investigation, all training flights have been suspended, which is standard practice in such situations.

This incident is not the first time that problems with munitions have arisen during training flights. As reported by Ukrinform, in 2026, Russian bombers dropped at least ten aerial bombs on Russian territory, which caused outrage among the population and drew attention to the safety of aviation training.

It is worth noting that safety during training flights is of utmost importance, as any mistake can lead to dangerous consequences not only for military personnel but also for civilians. Therefore, military structures are obliged to adhere to high safety standards while performing training tasks.

This incident underscores the importance of meticulous oversight during training exercises, as well as the necessity for continuous monitoring and improvement of safety procedures in aviation. It is hoped that the results of the investigation will help prevent similar situations in the future.
