Youth Space '12–21' Opens in Kryvyi Rih
A new youth space named '12–21' was inaugurated in Kryvyi Rih, as announced by Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska on her Facebook page. This facility marks the fourth establishment in a network created by the Olena Zelenska Foundation and was made possible through the support of the Association of Italian Banking Foundations (ACRI).
The city of Kryvyi Rih has witnessed the grand opening of a new youth space called '12–21', a significant development aimed at providing a supportive environment for the younger generation. The announcement was made by Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, on her official Facebook page. She highlighted that this new facility is the fourth in a series established by the Olena Zelenska Foundation, thanks to the generous backing of the Association of Italian Banking Foundations (ACRI).
According to Zelenska, the '12–21' youth space is specifically designed for individuals aged 12 to 21 years, offering a safe environment for leisure activities, career counseling, and psychosocial support. This space is intended to serve as a hub where young people can find support, engage in communication, and explore opportunities for personal development.
The opening ceremony was conducted in a manner that aligns with the concept of the space itself — by youth and for youth. The team from the Olena Zelenska Foundation was present at the event to gather firsthand impressions from guests and participants, ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard and valued.
During the inauguration, various workshops were held, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the new environment through hands-on experiences. Discussions revolved around topics that matter to them, such as future choices, community, and what truly holds significance in their lives. Following these workshops, young attendees shared their thoughts on what intrigued them, the issues that concern them, and their feedback on what they liked and what could be improved in the future.
“The space in Kryvyi Rih is already actively functioning and is filled with life — meetings, conversations, and new experiences. I believe it will become a warm and safe place for youth who need support during these challenging times,” emphasized Olena Zelenska. She also noted that '12–21' centers are open in other cities, including Bila Tserkva, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi.
It is important to mention that the '12–21' spaces for children and youth were initiated with the support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation and began operations back in December of the previous year. These spaces are intended to serve as platforms for the development and support of young people in Ukraine, as it is crucial to provide opportunities for self-realization and assistance amid contemporary challenges.
Thus, the opening of the '12–21' youth space in Kryvyi Rih represents a significant step forward in the development of social initiatives aimed at supporting the youth and reflects a growing awareness of the needs of the younger generation in Ukraine.
