New 'Masked' Mine with Electronic Control Discovered in Kherson

A dangerous explosive device disguised as a cloth-wrapped object has been discovered in Kherson, raising significant safety concerns among local residents.

A dangerous explosive device has been discovered in Kherson, which at first glance appears to be an object wrapped in cloth. This alarming news was reported by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, on his Telegram channel, as conveyed by the Ukrinform news agency.

Shanko noted that specialists are currently examining the characteristics of this mine, which, according to preliminary information, features electronic control. This implies that it can be activated remotely. Furthermore, the mine possesses a combined action capability, allowing it to inflict damage both on people and equipment.

It is crucial to highlight that the self-detonation time of this mine, if activated, remains unknown. This uncertainty raises additional fears among local residents, as even accidental contact with such an object could lead to tragic consequences.

Yaroslav Shanko urged the residents of Kherson to exercise caution and categorically prohibited approaching the explosive device closer than 30 meters. He also emphasized that touching or attempting to move the mines is strictly forbidden.

This situation underscores the serious threat faced by the residents of Kherson and surrounding areas. As previously reported by Ukrinform, in the temporarily occupied Kakhovka district of the Kherson region, Russian military forces are actively blocking roads and scattering so-called 'butterfly mines' from drones. These mines are particularly dangerous as they are difficult to detect and can remain unexploded for extended periods, endangering the lives of civilians.

In light of this, local authorities are calling on the population to remain vigilant and adhere to all safety measures. It is essential for people not to ignore warnings and safety instructions, as this could save lives.

A photograph accompanying the announcement was published by Yaroslav Shanko on his Telegram channel, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of informing the public about the dangers that surround them. Local residents are urged to be cautious and to take a conscious approach to their own safety.
