On October 20, a drone attack in Kherson resulted in injuries to two female employees of a thermal power plant, according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration. The information was relayed via their Telegram channel, as reported by the Ukrinform news agency.
According to the published information, Russian military forces launched an attack on the Dnipro district of Kherson around noon. As a result of the hostile strike, two women, aged 46 and 49, who work at the thermal power plant, sustained serious injuries. Both women suffered from shrapnel wounds, concussions, as well as explosive and closed head injuries.
An emergency medical team promptly transported the injured women to the hospital. Their condition has been assessed as moderate, indicating the need for further medical observation and treatment.
This incident occurred amid escalating tensions in Kherson, where Russian forces continue to shell civilian infrastructure. Earlier that same day, around 10 a.m., Russian troops shelled the center of Kherson, injuring an 89-year-old local resident who was outside at the time. This incident further underscores the peril faced by civilians in the region.
Kherson, which has become one of the epicenters of the conflict, continues to suffer significant destruction due to regular shelling. Local residents live under constant stress, as each day may bring new threats to their lives and health. Authorities are urging residents to adhere to safety measures and avoid dangerous areas.
This attack serves as yet another testament to the aggressive actions of Russian forces, who show no regard for civilian objects and populations. The Ukrainian government and international organizations continue to condemn such actions, demanding accountability for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.
