In Kherson, Security Measures Strengthened During Easter Holidays – Military Administration

In light of the tense security situation, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, announced the implementation of enhanced security measures during the Easter holidays and memorial days to protect the lives and health of citizens.

In Kherson, considering the tense security situation, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, has reported the introduction of enhanced security measures during the Easter holidays and memorial days. These measures aim to protect the lives and health of citizens residing in the community's populated areas.

In his message published on Telegram, Shanko noted that a number of restrictions have been established concerning visits to cemeteries, the conduct of religious services, and gatherings of people. Specifically, visits to cemeteries are prohibited until the security situation stabilizes, except in cases where funeral processions are taking place. This decision has been made to prevent potential dangers that may arise in unstable conditions.

Furthermore, the head of the administration pointed out the ban on conducting religious services in places of worship during the curfew. This also applies to any gatherings of people during this time. Importantly, festive services and blessing rituals cannot be held in the adjacent areas of places of worship, which is also part of the measures aimed at ensuring safety.

Shanko also addressed religious organizations operating within the community, providing recommendations regarding the conduct of services. He urged them to hold services in a remote format to avoid crowds of worshippers in churches at the same time. This decision aims to reduce risks associated with potential provocations or emergencies.

Additionally, religious organizations have been advised to conduct festive events, such as blessings, exclusively inside places of worship. This will allow for the preservation of traditions while simultaneously ensuring the safety of all participants. Shanko also emphasized the importance of planning the service schedule in advance, taking into account the curfew and the time needed for the safe movement of citizens.

These measures are part of the overall efforts of local authorities to ensure safety during holiday periods, when large gatherings of people are traditionally observed. Given the current situation in the country, especially in regions where the security environment remains tense, such decisions are extremely necessary to prevent potential threats.

The Kherson City Military Administration calls on all residents of the community to adhere to the new rules and restrictions to ensure peace and safety during the holidays. The authorities hope for understanding and support from the community, as safety is the top priority in these challenging times.
