Conflict Erupts in Kharkiv as Woman Disrupts Military Mobilization Efforts

On Sunday, April 5, in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, specifically around Tarasivskyi Lane, a conflict arose between military personnel from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS) and a woman who was trying to hinder their operations. According to the Kharkiv Regional Police, during the mobilization notification activities, it was discovered that one citizen was wanted for an administrative offense related to evading military service.

As law enforcement reported, while informing the individual about this situation, he began to actively resist and used tear gas. Two women intervened, likely under the mistaken belief that the military's actions were unlawful. One of the women was recording the incident on video, while the other attempted to obstruct the actions of the TCRSS representatives, which escalated the conflict.

During the incident, physical force and pepper spray were used against the obstructing woman. As a result, she suffered a chemical burn to her eyes and was urgently transported to a medical facility for necessary assistance.

The police have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for minor bodily injuries. This article can be applied in cases where an individual has sustained injuries that are not serious but require medical intervention.

Furthermore, on Monday, during the notification activities for military conscripts, another incident occurred in Kharkiv: a civilian man stabbed a soldier in the abdomen. This case also underscores the tension in relations between military personnel and civilians under martial law conditions.
