Rocket Strike Hits Kharkiv Apartment Building, Casualties Reported
A rocket drone strike in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv has resulted in casualties and damage to residential property, according to local authorities.
In Kharkiv, specifically in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a strike from a Shahed rocket drone has been confirmed near a multi-story residential building. This incident was reported by Kharkiv's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, via his Telegram channel, as conveyed by the Ukrinform news agency.
Terekhov noted that there are casualties resulting from this strike, although the exact number of injured individuals and their conditions are still being verified. "The strike from the Shahed rocket drone occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city," he stated in his post.
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, also confirmed the information regarding the attack by the enemy drone. He reported that the strike hit the ground near a multi-apartment residential building. According to him, a 61-year-old woman was injured and diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.
Syniehubov further indicated that the strike caused damage to the windows of residential buildings, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. Emergency Service units (DSNS) and emergency medical teams are already on-site, providing assistance to the injured and working to mitigate the aftermath of the strike.
This event comes amid escalating tensions in the region. According to reports, one person was killed and 11 others, including a child, were injured in Kharkiv Oblast over the past day. This highlights the ongoing suffering of civilians due to relentless enemy attacks that indiscriminately target residential areas.
The situation in Kharkiv remains tense, with local residents continuing to experience fear and uncertainty due to the constant threats from the aggressor. Authorities are urging citizens to adhere to safety measures and exercise caution, especially as hostile actions become increasingly active.
