Oil Depot in Feodosia Ablaze Following Shelling - Social Media Reports
An oil depot in Feodosia, located on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, was struck by shelling at 1:00 AM, resulting in a significant fire, according to reports from the Telegram channel 'Crimean Wind' and the Ukrinform agency.
In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the region, an oil depot in Feodosia, Crimea, was targeted by shelling late at night, igniting a fire that could be seen from over 20 kilometers away. This incident occurred at 1:00 AM and has been reported by the Telegram channel 'Crimean Wind,' with further details provided by the Ukrinform news agency.
Subscribers to the 'Crimean Wind' channel reported hearing gunfire and explosions, indicating the severity of the situation. Following the shelling, a monitoring group associated with the channel released satellite images that confirmed the occurrence of the fire at the oil depot, highlighting the intensity of the blaze.
The fire at the oil depot was so intense that it raised concerns about its potential environmental impact, as flames could be observed from a considerable distance. This incident underscores the ongoing volatility in the region and the risks posed to critical infrastructure in occupied territories.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Sergey Aksyonov, the head of the occupation administration of the peninsula, reportedly issued a directive at the request of Russian military command to refrain from disclosing information about the strike on the maritime oil terminal. This move suggests an attempt to obscure the scale of the attack and its ramifications.
This incident marks the third fire at an oil depot in Feodosia in recent times. Notably, on the night of October 13, 2025, drones from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Special Operations Forces (SSO) successfully struck the Feodosia maritime oil terminal, along with several electrical substations in occupied Crimea. This attack resulted in damage to 11 storage tanks, 10 of which were filled with fuel, raising alarms about the potential for further incidents.
Additionally, on the night of October 7, 2024, Ukrainian Defense Forces also executed a successful strike on the maritime oil terminal in Feodosia, leading to the declaration of a state of technological emergency in the city. These repeated attacks highlight the persistent threats facing infrastructure in the region, as well as the ongoing conflict between Ukrainian forces and occupying troops.
These recent events emphasize the tense situation in Crimea and the continuous dangers that infrastructure facilities face in temporarily occupied areas. Given the pattern of recent incidents, further actions by Ukrainian forces aimed at dismantling military assets of the adversary can be anticipated.
