Chernivtsi Completes Construction of Two Barrier-Free Playgrounds

In Chernivtsi, the installation of two new barrier-free playgrounds is underway, aimed at providing accessible play areas for children of all abilities.

In Chernivtsi, work continues on the establishment of two new barrier-free playgrounds located on Ruska Street at addresses 141 and 175. This information was reported by the Chernivtsi City Council on its official Facebook page, as conveyed by the Ukrinform news agency.

According to the information provided, the work at these locations is part of a large-scale project titled "Movement Without Barriers," which aims to ensure accessibility for all children, regardless of their physical capabilities. As part of this initiative, new play equipment is being installed at the playgrounds, and the surface is being updated to ensure safety during play.

Special attention is being paid to the accessibility of the playgrounds during the execution of the work. The spatial planning ensures that children of various ages and with different needs can utilize the facilities. This includes safe surfacing, inclusive elements, and the creation of a comfortable environment for children and their parents.

The "Movement Without Barriers" initiative is a flagship project of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. It encompasses 15 pilot communities, including major cities such as Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Lviv, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Slavutych, Kropyvnytskyi, Bucha, as well as the villages of Opishnia and Borodyanka. The implementation of this initiative is aimed at creating a convenient, modern, and inclusive urban environment that meets the needs of all its residents.

It is important to note that the "Movement Without Barriers" project not only improves infrastructure but also raises public awareness about the importance of accessibility for people with disabilities. Thanks to initiatives like this, cities are becoming more friendly and open to everyone, which is a significant step towards ensuring equal opportunities for all children.

Photographs illustrating the progress of the work have been published by the Chernivtsi City Council on their Facebook page. This allows the public to follow the progress and evaluate the results of the work.
