In March 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces achieved remarkable results in their ongoing battle against Russian aggressors, striking more than 151,200 enemy targets. This information was disclosed by Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on his Telegram channel, emphasizing that such losses represent a record high since the inception of the Army of Drones program.
According to Fedorov, Russian forces suffered significant casualties during March, with 35,351 Russian invaders either killed or seriously wounded. These figures have been corroborated by the eBal system, which assigns points for verified hits, each accompanied by corresponding video evidence.
The Minister noted that for the fourth consecutive month, enemy losses have outpaced their replenishment rates. "We are confidently moving towards our strategic goal of eliminating over 50,000 occupiers each month," Fedorov stated, adding that this is a key element of the War Plan, aimed at inflicting upon Russia a level of losses that would compel them to come to the negotiating table.
Fedorov also reported a systematic increase in the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense. In March, the number of destroyed Shahed and Gerber drones doubled, indicating the success of Ukrainian military efforts in combating enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
Despite Russia's attempts to mobilize record resources to regain the initiative, the results of their efforts have been disappointing, leading to even greater losses. The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 274 enemy air defense systems and radar stations, 121 rocket artillery systems, 212 guns and self-propelled artillery units, and intercepted 33,686 enemy drones.
"A total of 151,207 targets have been struck. This is a historic maximum," emphasized Ukraine's Defense Minister. He highlighted that the Army of Drones program allows for real-time visibility of the frontline situation, enabling the scaling of the most effective practices across the entire military. The Ministry of Defense continuously analyzes the effectiveness of each weapon system and quickly implements solutions that yield the greatest results.
The most effective units in drone operations during March included the Special Operations Center "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine, the unit "Ptykhy Madyara," the border guards' special unit "Phoenix," Lazar’s Group, and the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
It is worth noting that earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that March witnessed the highest casualties for Russia throughout the war, with over 35,000 invaders killed or seriously wounded. This data confirms the success of Ukrainian efforts in countering Russian aggression.
