Digital Transformation of the Morshyn Mineral Water Plant 'Oscar': A Successful Start for the New ERP System
IDS Ukraine has officially announced the successful implementation of a cutting-edge enterprise resource management system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 at the Morshyn Mineral Water Plant 'Oscar'. This significant step is part of the company's extensive digital transformation strategy aimed at transitioning to an Enterprise 4.0 model.
The implementation of the new enterprise resource management (ERP) system at the Morshyn Mineral Water Plant 'Oscar' was completed in a record time of just seven months. This remarkable efficiency was made possible by utilizing a pre-established configuration that had already been successfully applied at another plant within the IDS Group, located in Myrhorod. Additionally, the high qualifications of the internal team and project partners played a crucial role in the project's success. Notably, the implementation process involved OntargIT, a company that is an official Microsoft partner in Ukraine and specializes in deploying Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.
Launching the ERP system at the Morshyn plant proved to be a significantly more complex task than similar operations at the Myrhorod facility. This complexity arises from the fact that the Morshyn plant operates seven production lines and offers a wider range of products, including beverages containing juices and syrups. The new management system encompasses all key operational areas of the plant, allowing for the optimization of production and management processes.
Victor Borovkov, the IT Director of IDS Ukraine, emphasized the importance of this project: 'This project required a complete change in our operational approaches. We consciously chose to retrain our own specialists rather than hire external personnel. Our employees effectively learned a new programming language and the logic of process construction from scratch. Implementing an ERP system at such a powerful enterprise allows us to move away from outdated software and creates a foundation for utilizing artificial intelligence in the future. Although we still have the first quarter ahead to finalize all financial indicators, we are already seeing significant improvements in user interface convenience and functionality.'
The transition to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform also enabled IDS Ukraine to account for the software requirements of the distributors with whom the 'Oscar' plant collaborates, automating operations within a single system. This ensures a stable availability of products on store shelves and optimizes operational costs. The next phase of digital transformation will involve deploying the system within the distribution company 'IDS', which will unify all business segments into a single digital framework by 2027.
