Three Dead, Including a Child, and Ten Injured in Russian Attack on Odesa
In a brutal assault on the night of April 6, 2026, Odesa experienced a devastating Russian attack that resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a child, and left ten others injured.
In the early hours of April 6, 2026, Odesa became the target of a violent Russian assault, which tragically claimed the lives of three people, including a young child, and injured ten others. This horrific incident unfolded when Russian forces struck a residential building, sparking widespread outrage among local residents and officials alike.
The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported the incident in a post on Telegram. He noted that among the injured were a toddler and two teenagers. Disturbingly, two of the ten injured individuals were hospitalized in critical condition, raising concerns within the medical community.
“Two individuals in critical condition have been hospitalized: one patient is in neurosurgery, while the other is in the intensive care unit for burn victims,” Lysak stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
The attack resulted in significant damage in the Primorsky district of Odesa, where a residential building and seven private homes were affected. Additionally, in the Kyiv district, another residential building, five private homes, a kindergarten, a store, and 27 vehicles sustained damage. These widespread destructions highlight the scale of the attack and its impact on civilian infrastructure.
It is important to note that Russia has been regularly targeting Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and energy facilities, continuing its aggressive policies in the ongoing war against Ukraine. These attacks not only inflict material damage on the country but also claim the lives of innocent people, provoking deep outrage among Ukrainians.
Just a few days prior, on April 3, Russia conducted an airstrike on the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of four civilians, including a 16-year-old boy, and injuring four others. These events underscore that Russian forces are persisting in their campaign of terror against the peaceful population of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in March, Russia dropped the highest number of guided aerial bombs (or glide bombs) on Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, totaling 7,987 bombs. This statistic underscores the threat posed by Russian aggression to the Ukrainian people and their infrastructure.
This incident in Odesa serves as yet another tragic reminder of the importance of continuing the fight for peace and security in Ukraine, as every life matters, and each loss is a tragedy for the entire nation.
