In Kherson on April 9, three women were injured as a result of merciless attacks by Russian troops, including an 89-year-old resident who suffered severe injuries during shelling in the city center. The other two women, who work at a thermal power plant, were hospitalized following a drone strike. This tragedy once again highlights the dangers faced by civilians in regions experiencing military actions.
According to information provided by the Kherson Regional Military Administration and the Kherson City Military Administration, the shelling of central Kherson occurred around 10:00 AM. During this attack, the 89-year-old woman, who was outside at the time, sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her leg. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene provided her with necessary assistance; however, her condition remains serious.
On the same day at noon, Russian military forces launched a drone attack on the territory of an enterprise in the Dnipro district. As a result of this attack, two female employees of the thermal power plant were injured and urgently hospitalized. There is currently no information regarding their condition, but medical staff are doing everything possible to provide them with the necessary care.
These events occurred against the backdrop of escalating conflict in the region, where Russian troops continue to attack civilian objects and infrastructure. Just on April 7, Russian forces conducted an attack on an ambulance that was carrying three doctors, as well as on two medical workers who were returning home. This incident sparked outrage among local residents and medical professionals who face constant threats while performing their duties.
Kherson, which was previously under the control of Ukrainian forces, has become a battleground for numerous attacks by Russian military, leading to numerous casualties among the civilian population. Local residents, who are trying to lead normal lives, are confronted with constant danger. Over the past few months, the situation in the region has significantly worsened, and many people have left their homes in search of safer places.
These tragic events once again underscore the need for the international community to pay attention to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and take measures to protect the civilian population. In a war where innocent people suffer, it is crucial that the world does not remain indifferent to the hardships endured by Ukrainians.
