Tragedy in Cherkasy Region: Explosion of Russian Drone Claims Lives of Four, Including Volunteer Ivan Stepanuk

"In our large family, there is tragic news: a member of the organization has died from the explosion of an enemy drone, a sincere, tireless person with golden hands, an indefatigable volunteer known perhaps throughout the front for his good, professional deeds in support of the Ukrainian military — Ivan Oleksiyovych Stepanuk," said Pavlo Diba.

The significance of Ivan Stepanuk's contributions to supporting Ukrainian soldiers was also emphasized by local resident Lyubov Orlenko. She described him as a "first aid" for the entire front, noting that he was a "man of flint" and a "man of gold." "The enemy killed one who gave hope to others. Not just a volunteer perished — a person who was a 'first aid' for the entire front has died. Repairing equipment under fire, evacuating from hell where others could not endure — this was his life’s heroism," shared her memories of Stepanuk, Lyubov Orlenko recounted.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, the tragedy occurred in the Zoloniysky district of the Cherkasy region. Four local residents approached the enemy drone out of curiosity, after which a detonation of the drone's warhead occurred in an open area. This incident underscores the dangers faced by Ukrainians in wartime, as even ordinary curiosity can lead to fatal consequences.
