Among the criminal groups uncovered, the National Police of Ukraine played a pivotal role, identifying a staggering 496 groups. Meanwhile, the State Bureau of Investigations reported the discovery of 74 groups, while 44 were uncovered by the Bureau of Economic Security. The Security Service of Ukraine documented 40 criminal groups, and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine identified 23.
Notably, a significant portion of the detected criminal groups, specifically 160, were involved in the illegal drug trade, highlighting a serious drug problem in Ukraine. This issue remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies, as combating drug-related crime is a crucial component of ensuring public safety.
Additionally, it is important to note that law enforcement officials recently uncovered another criminal group in the Kyiv region, which operated under the guise of providing assistance to individuals suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. This group was found to be unlawfully holding 58 citizens, sparking outrage among the public and prompting an investigation.
