Tyson Fury Considers Retirement After Fight with Arslanbek Mahmoudov

British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has once again hinted at the possibility of retirement. In a recent interview, he stated that his upcoming fight against Russian-Canadian Arslanbek Mahmoudov could be the last of his career. This information was reported by Boxing News 24/7.

Fury openly expressed his thoughts, saying, “It could be just one fight. If he beats me — that’s definitely the end. In that case, there will be no more fights.” These words indicate that the boxer is seriously considering the possibility of ending his career if the outcome of the fight does not favor him.

Tyson Fury also explained why he chose a strong opponent for his final bout. “If I had chosen an easy fight, I wouldn’t have been able to motivate myself to train. And knowing that he is dangerous, I fully committed to my training and got into great shape,” Fury noted, emphasizing the importance of proper preparation for the fight.

The fight between Fury and Mahmoudov is scheduled for April 11 and will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. This matchup has generated significant interest among boxing fans, as both fighters boast impressive records in their professional careers.

Fury announced his retirement in January 2025 after suffering two defeats to Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, but in January 2026, he announced his return to boxing, sparking much discussion in the sports community. Throughout his professional career, Fury has fought 37 bouts, achieving 34 victories (24 of which were by knockout), suffering two losses, and one fight ending in a draw.

On the other hand, Arslanbek Mahmoudov last stepped into the ring in October 2025, when he secured a unanimous decision victory over British fighter David Allen. Throughout his career, Mahmoudov has participated in 23 bouts, winning 21 (19 by knockout) and suffering two losses. This fight will be a significant milestone in the careers of both boxers.

In February of this year, the boxers had their first face-off, and ahead of the fight, they met again in a stare-down, during which Fury blew a kiss to Mahmoudov, creating a memorable moment before the anticipated bout.
