He emphasized that Ukrainian forces have been successfully repelling Russian attempts to seize the strategically important city of Kostiantynivka.
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky recently visited the area of responsibility of the 19th Corps, sharing vital information regarding the frontline situation. According to Ukrinform, Syrsky noted that Ukrainian forces are successfully fending off attempts by Russian occupation troops to capture the city of Kostiantynivka, which is strategically significant for the defense of the region.
In a Facebook post, the commander-in-chief elaborated on the ongoing efforts of the 19th Corps, which is tasked with defending the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka agglomeration. He highlighted that the unit continues to withstand enemy attacks, emphasizing that Russian troops are attempting to improve their tactical position along this segment of the front by combining small infantry group assaults with massive drone strikes. This indicates that the adversary remains determined to advance, despite suffering substantial losses during combat.
Syrsky also pointed out that the 19th Corps has successfully maintained its positions in Kostiantynivka for nearly a year, inflicting significant casualties on Russian forces. He stressed the adaptability of the command, which skillfully responds to changes on the battlefield by employing unconventional and proactive approaches to defense.
During his visit, the commander-in-chief focused particularly on analyzing proposals from commanders regarding the urgent needs of their units. Key issues discussed included enhancing capabilities to counter enemy drones, as well as the supply of ammunition and other logistical resources necessary for effective defense.
“As a result of the operational work, several problematic issues raised by commanders on the ground have been promptly addressed,” Syrsky emphasized, highlighting the command's active response to the needs of military personnel in the combat zone.
In conclusion, the commander-in-chief expressed gratitude to the servicemen for their professionalism, resilience, and courage in defending Ukraine. “Once again, thank you for your exceptional professionalism, resilience, and bravery in defending Ukraine,” he summarized, underscoring the importance of maintaining the morale of troops in the challenging conditions of war.
It is worth noting that as part of the operation in the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukraine's Defense Forces recently regained control over eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in Zaporizhzhia. These successes indicate the progressive movement of Ukrainian troops in their fight against Russian aggression.
